About this course
Recorded lectures of MIT's 18.650 Statistics for Applications (Fall 2016), taught by Philippe Rigollet and published by MIT OpenCourseWare. The course begins with an introduction to statistics, then develops parametric inference, maximum likelihood estimation and the method of moments, and parametric hypothesis testing, before moving on to topics such as goodness-of-fit tests, regression and Bayesian statistics. It is a university-level course for learners with calculus and probability who want the theory behind the methods analysts use. Use the OCW site for notes and problem sets.
