About this course

Neso Academy's DBMS course, 91 lectures and about 18 hours, covering the theory and SQL parts of a university database subject. It compares file systems with DBMS, explains instances and schemas, data models, the history of DBMS, relational databases and keys. A long section on relational algebra (project, select, Cartesian product, assignment, division) comes with solved problems, followed by tuple and domain relational calculus. Database design is taught with attribute types, mapping cardinalities and ER diagrams, including a banking example and quizzes. The SQL part covers DDL commands, primary and foreign key constraints, DML insert and update, transaction control, ORDER BY, BETWEEN, NULL functions and MySQL practicals. Suits BS students studying databases.

Before you start: Basic computer knowledge; set theory helps.
