What you'll be able to do
- Analyse algorithms with the frequency count method
- Use Big O, Omega and Theta notation correctly
- Compare growth rates of functions
About this course
Abdul Bari's Algorithms playlist is a university-level course taught in English on a whiteboard. It begins with what an algorithm is, a priori analysis versus a posteriori testing, how to write and analyse algorithms, the frequency count method and time complexity of loops and conditions, classes of functions, Big O, Omega and Theta notation and their properties, and comparing functions, before going on to divide and conquer, greedy methods and dynamic programming. It suits CS students and interview candidates. Afterwards, practise algorithm problems.
Before you start: Programming basics and some familiarity with data structures.
