  • Describe Ethernet, Wi-Fi and IP addressing

About this course

Neso Academy's computer networks course, about 100 lectures and 14 hours, built layer by layer with many solved numerical problems. It introduces networks, protocols, topologies and MAC addressing, layering, the OSI model and the TCP/IP suite, and hands-on Cisco Packet Tracer basics, then network devices and the physical layer. The data link layer gets deep coverage: framing, bit stuffing, LRC and CRC error detection, latency and delay problems, stop-and-wait, Go-Back-N and selective repeat ARQ, sliding windows, ALOHA, CSMA and token passing, Ethernet, Wi-Fi frames, CSMA/CA, Bluetooth and the spanning tree protocol. It then moves into IP addressing with classful addressing and subnetting. Ideal for BS students and networking beginners.

Before you start: Basic computer knowledge; no networking background needed.
