Sabaq (سبق, “lesson”) takes the best free courses that teachers and institutions already publish on YouTube and turns them into structured courses: ordered lessons, progress that is saved as you watch, timestamped notes, and learning paths that end in something real. It is made by DanixSoft, a software studio in Lahore, Pakistan, and launched in 2026.
The facts
- 224 courses from 128 official channels, in Urdu and English.
- Everything is free to watch. There are no ads from Sabaq and no sign-up is needed.
- Every video is an official upload by its teacher or institution, played in YouTube's own embedded player. We never download, re-upload or cover a video.
- Your progress and notes are saved in your browser. A free DanixSoft account, if you want one, syncs progress between devices.
- The course summaries, lesson structure, topic guides and paths are written by Sabaq.
Who runs it
Sabaq is run by DanixSoft, an independent software studio in Lahore, Pakistan. Write to hello@danixsoft.com with questions, corrections or rights requests.
Where the courses come from
Every course is a playlist or video that the teacher or institution published on their own YouTube channel, for example CS50, MIT OpenCourseWare and freeCodeCamp.org. Each course page links to the official channel and playlist, so you can always check the source.
How and how often it is checked
- When the catalogue is rebuilt, every lesson is checked with YouTube's public oEmbed service: it must exist, allow embedding and come from the allowlisted channel. The catalogue was last rebuilt on 26 Oct 2026.
- Courses are reviewed again every year, and technology courses every six months, against our quality bar.
- A lesson that no longer plays is switched off, and a course with too many missing lessons is hidden until it is fixed.
Corrections
If a lesson does not play or a detail is wrong, use Report a problem or email us. We correct confirmed mistakes as soon as we can, and handle rights requests the same day (rights and takedown).
What Sabaq is not
Sabaq is not an official site of YouTube, of any teacher or channel, or of any university or programme it lists (such as Harvard, MIT, Virtual University of Pakistan or DigiSkills), and it does not issue certificates. It organises their free public uploads; the teaching belongs to them.
Why Sabaq exists
YouTube has excellent complete courses (freelancing, Excel, design, programming) but no way to track where you are inside a 40-video playlist or a 10-hour video, and its recommendations pull you away from the lesson. Programmes such as DigiSkills are excellent but run in batches with deadlines. Sabaq is always open and self-paced, Urdu first, and a complement to those programmes, not a replacement.
