Sifaat ul Huroof: Characteristics of the Letters in Urdu (Qari Aqib)

A follow-up to Qari Aqib's makharij series, this Urdu/Hindi course explains the sifaat, the qualities that give each Arabic letter its sound, in 18 lessons of about 10 minutes each. After the introduction it pairs the opposite qualities one by one: hams and jahr, shiddah, rikhawah and tawassut, isti'la and istifal, itbaq and infitah, idhlaq and ismat. It then covers the qualities without opposites: safeer, qalqalah in detail, leen and inhiraf. Knowing the sifaat is what lets a reciter separate letters that share the same makhraj, so this is the natural second step after learning the makharij.
