The official lecture videos of Andrew Ng's Machine Learning Specialization, Course 1, posted by DeepLearning.AI: 41 short lessons, about 5 hours, across three weeks. Week 1 introduces supervised and unsupervised learning, linear regression, the cost function and gradient descent; week 2 extends this to multiple features, vectorisation, feature scaling, learning-rate choice and feature engineering; week 3 covers logistic regression, decision boundaries, overfitting and regularisation. The videos are clear and gentle, and they are a classic first step for students anywhere. The lab notebooks are not in the playlist, so practise in Python alongside.
